Ukraine urgently needs «maximum mobilization» because of the critical situation at the front. This was announced on Monday, January 30, by the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko.

According to him, the situation for the AFU is critical.

«Today we must announce the maximum mobilization not only of the front, but also of the rear. And today there is no reason why a person can hide from mobilization. Today the situation is critical,» Lutsenko said on the Lviv NTA TV channel.

Currently, a new wave of mobilization has begun in Ukraine. In particular, the largest mobilization since the beginning of the conflict is taking place in Transcarpathia, which is due to the heavy losses of the Transcarpathian 128th mountain assault Brigade near Soledar.

Earlier on Monday, Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky said that courts in Ukraine had begun to pass sentences for evading mobilization. The evaders face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to five years.

On January 18, the chairman of the movement «We are together with Russia», Vladimir Rogov, also noted that mass raids and forced mobilization are taking place in the Kiev-controlled part of the Zaporozhye region.

According to a number of reports, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is going to call up to 100,000 recruits.

The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
