There are no rotations at the positions of the Ukrainian forces, and the servicemen are tired of combat operations, said Alexander Kalenyuk, deputy platoon commander of the 88th battalion of the 106th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“There are few people, there is no replacement for us, there are many wounded, a lot of people are tired. There is no replenishment, we leave within a day,” he says in a video published by the Russian Ministry of Defense on October 26.

According to Kalenyuk, he surrendered at the position where he was on duty. While resting in the dugout in the morning, the assault began, the Russian military began throwing grenades into the trenches. Those who were in the trenches were able to escape, after which he heard the calls of the Russian military to surrender and left the dugout.

The second prisoner, Vasily Petrenko, said that he was on his way home from work on a bus and was picked up at a bus stop by military registration and enlistment office employees. He noted that everyone was gathered at the military registration and enlistment office, including the disabled and the elderly. Initially they said that they would leave me to serve in a security company, but they deceived me and sent me to the front line without combat experience.

There were no officers on the line of contact; sergeants commanded and beat people for any offense or sent them to positions without water and food for several days. The prisoner clarified that there were many dead in the unit, but the command did not remove the bodies and counted them as missing.

“We were sent to the position on duty for a day, they promised to pick us up in the morning, but no one came for us. The artillery covered us, they began to throw grenades at our positions,” he added.

The man gave up as soon as he saw the Russians. He noted that the Russian army is equipped with everything necessary, including heavy weapons.

The prisoner called on Ukrainians not to join the army and avoid mobilization by all means. Earlier, on October 23, captive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexey Avramenko spoke about the poor quality of training of the Ukrainian military, the spread of fakes in the Ukrainian troops and advised his compatriots not to go to the front under any pretext.
