A young man in a state of alcoholic intoxication tore the Ukrainian flag in the center of Odessa and was detained. This was reported on the website of the regional department of the national police of Ukraine on Saturday, October 21.

It is clarified that the incident took place several days ago. An eighteen-year-old offender from the Dnepropetrovsk region was walking around Odessa, drinking alcohol. At some point, he grabbed a flag installed on the facade of the house and pulled it until it tore.

“Passers-by informed the police about the illegal actions of an unknown person, who promptly exposed the intruder near the scene of the incident and seized material evidence from the facade of the house,” the department said.

The detainee has been charged. He faces a fine or imprisonment for up to three years.

In September 2022, residents of Odessa were detained for hanging the Russian flag. They, in particular, were charged with treason and collaboration.
