In Ukraine, almost 100 searches have been carried out in 11 regions of the country as part of exposing a massive draft evasion scheme. This was reported on August 1 in the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

“Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the office of the Prosecutor General, a pre-trial investigation is carried out in criminal proceedings on the facts of organizing draft evasion during mobilization. As part of the investigation, almost 100 authorized searches were carried out, ”the ministry’s Telegram channel said in a statement.

Searches were carried out in Odessa, Transcarpathian, Kyiv, Poltava, Vinnitsa, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Lvov, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk regions, as well as in Kyiv.

According to the investigation, officials of the military registration and enlistment offices in the regions, acting together with members of the military medical commission, through third parties, issued certificates of unfitness for military service for health reasons. After that, those liable for military service were removed from the military register. It is noted that the average amount of the bribe was $6,000, and the certificates received were used to travel abroad.

According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, during the searches, medical records, registers of medical reports and patient certificates were found and seized. In addition, original certificates of unfitness for military service for health reasons and temporary certificates of those liable for military service indicating unfitness for military service were also confiscated at the addresses of the dodgers’ places of residence.
