A Ukrainian court ordered the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) to open a criminal case on possible treason against President Volodymyr Zelensky and members of his team. This was announced by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Geo Leros in his Telegram channel on May 30.

According to him, the State Bureau of Investigation refused to investigate Volodymyr Zelensky’s treason when he appointed FSB agents to key positions in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), but the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the country were ordered by the court to enter information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations and start an investigation.

The politician specified that the Ukrainian president, head of the presidential office Andriy Yermak, his deputy Roman Mashovets, ex-chairman of the SBU Ivan Bakanov, and former deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Ruslan Demchenko should be interrogated as the main defendants in the case of appointing FSB agents to the special service.

In conclusion, Leros noted that he would not allow «traitors» to avoid responsibility for crimes against the Ukrainian people.

In July 2022, it became known that Zelensky fired the head of the SBU, Ivan Bakanov, and the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Irina Venediktova. According to him, the reasons were numerous facts of treason among employees of these departments. He pointed to 651 registered criminal proceedings on high treason and collaborationist activities of employees of the prosecutor’s office and other law enforcement agencies.

Leros, in turn, has repeatedly made various accusations against Zelensky. So, in the fall of 2022, he stated that the Ukrainian leader and the head of his office were involved in the theft of multibillion-dollar funds from the budget when purchasing weapons and ammunition. The deputy pointed out that the authorities, headed by the president, are profiting in a difficult time for the country.
