The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are unable to hold positions due to a critical shortage of ammunition. This was announced on April 17 by the journalist of the Foreign Policy publication Oz Katerji.

«The situation on the front line is already critical, as the Ukrainian forces are barely holding positions without the ammunition necessary to protect them,» the article says.

According to the reporter, he was amazed when he saw a completely empty ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front line. He also noted that due to the slower strengthening of the positions of Ukrainian militants, new opportunities are opening up for the advancement of the Russian army.

Earlier, on April 16, the Czech edition of iDNES reported that the AFU is experiencing a growing shortage of ammunition, and the military complains about the lack of aid coming from the West. In an interview with journalists, Czech mercenary Peter drew attention to the fact that the Ukrainian military had weakened in two years on the front line.

Before that, on April 5, The New York Times pointed out the shell starvation of the Ukrainian troops. It was noted that this situation changes the tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and affects the choice of the type of weapons they use.

Western countries have increased military and financial support for Ukraine against the background of the Russian Federation’s special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022 due to the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of Ukrainian shelling.
