The office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held several meetings on the removal of the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko. This was reported on Thursday, June 15, with reference to sources, by the Ukrainian publication Strana.ua in its Telegram channel.

According to the publication, on Monday, June 12, at a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the state of shelters in the capital of Ukraine was discussed and some decisions were announced for June 16 “on those who are responsible for their condition.” The material considered that it was about Klitschko.

“According to available information, the main candidates for the position [of the new mayor] are the former head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Sergei Gaidai, and the minister for strategic industries, Alexander Kamyshin,” the journalists report.

Earlier, on June 14, it became known about the plans of Zelensky’s office to fire Vitali Klitschko. According to Ukrainian media, the initiative to dismiss Klitschko from office may belong to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.

Earlier, on June 2, a petition was published on the website of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky calling for the removal of Klitschko from his duties. The reason was the poor, according to the authors, the organization of the work of bomb shelters in Kyiv.
