President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the dismissal of regional military commissars, the decision was made based on the results of a check for corruption. This is stated on August 17 on the website of the head of state.

The decree consolidates the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of August 11. Then the Ukrainian leader said that he had instructed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valeriy Zaluzhny to appoint the military who took part in the hostilities to these positions.

In early August, Zelensky noted that numerous violations and abuses were established following inspections of military registration and enlistment offices.

In Ukraine, 112 criminal cases have been initiated against employees of military registration and enlistment offices, 33 persons have been charged with corruption.

So, on August 1, the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced the initiation of a criminal case on illegal enrichment against the military commissar of the Dnepropetrovsk region.

At the end of July, a Kyiv court arrested Yevgeny Borisov, a former military commissar of the Odessa region, with the possibility of posting a bail of 150 million hryvnias ($4.1 million). He is suspected of illegal enrichment, failure to appear for service and evasion of military service during the general mobilization.
