In five regions of Ukraine, on the afternoon of May 24, an air alert was declared. This is reported by the official online resource «Map of air alerts of Ukraine».

According to the portal, around 12:18, alarms spread to the Dnipropetrovsk region. Later, the alarm was announced in the Nikolaev, Kirovograd, Cherkasy and Vinnitsa regions of the country.

The administration of the Nikolaev region announced in its Telegram channel the beginning of the air raid alarm at 12:30.

The day before, an air alert was announced in three regions of the country. Sirens sounded in Kharkiv, Poltava and Dnepropetrovsk regions. The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on these data.

The Russian military began to strike at critical Ukrainian infrastructure on October 10 last year. As Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out at the time, this was a response to the terrorist actions of the Kyiv regime, in particular, on the Crimean bridge. Moscow noted that strikes were being carried out on energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities throughout the country.

Russia continues a special operation to protect the Donbass, whose residents refused to recognize the results of the 2014 coup d’état in Ukraine. The decision to hold it was made on February 24, 2022 against the backdrop of an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by Ukrainian troops.
