On May 2, in Uzhgorod, police discovered that vandals had damaged a monument to soldiers of the Second World War. The crime was discovered while monitoring the Internet. This was reported in the press service of the National Police.
A photo posted by a resident of the city on Facebook shows damage to the memorial plaque and the star of the Eternal Flame on the monument to the fallen heroes.
An investigative and operational group of the Uzhgorod police department was sent to the scene, which had already conducted an inspection of the scene. As a result, it was found that a number of damages could have formed due to weather conditions.
Employees of the utility company explained that the damage was over a year old. No fresh damage was found. The check is ongoing now. Additional circumstances of the incident are established.
