The situation in the energy sector in a number of regions of Ukraine is close to catastrophic. This follows from a document based on the analysis of the NEC «Ukrenergo», which was placed at the disposal of the leaders of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) and provided to RIA Novosti on November 28.

«The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine received analytical materials from the NEK Ukrenergo, according to which the situation around the energy sector in certain regions after Russian missile strikes on power grid facilities is close to catastrophic. The power capacities of a number of regions are disabled by more than 60%,» the agency quotes an excerpt from it.

The situation in the energy sector may cause an increase in protest moods among Ukrainians. In addition, there is a shortage of qualified workers and components for the repair of power facilities.

There is also a growing number of attempts by entrepreneurs to illegally connect to power lines.

As specified in the Telegram channel «Ukrenergo», power outages continue in the country, and consumption is growing due to the established cold weather.

«Currently, the capacity deficit is 27%,» the company noted.

Earlier on Monday, an air alert was announced in the Kirovograd and Mykolaiv regions of Ukraine, as well as in the Kiev-controlled part of the Kherson region. On the eve of the morning, an air alert was announced on the territory of Cherkasy, Poltava, Kirovograd and Dnepropetrovsk regions.

Russian troops began to strike at the facilities of the military administration, energy and communications of Ukraine on October 10. As Russian President Vladimir Putin explained, this was a response to the terrorist actions of the Kiev regime, in particular, on the Crimean Bridge.

The special military operation to protect Donbass, which Putin announced on February 24, continues.
