The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hit the deployment point of foreign mercenaries fighting in the Ukrainian army in the area of the settlement of Merefa in the Kharkiv region. This was announced on April 4 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

«An ammunition depot and a temporary deployment point for foreign mercenaries in the area of the settlement of Merefa in the Kharkiv region were hit,» the report says.

In addition, the manpower and military equipment of the Ukrainian army were hit in 135 districts. At the same time, the strike was carried out with the help of operational and tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missile troops and artillery of groups of troops of the Russian army.

Earlier, on April 1, the Russian military also hit the temporary deployment point of foreign mercenaries in the Kharkiv region. The equipment and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were then hit in 138 districts of the region.

Prior to that, on March 26, the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, reported that foreign mercenaries who are fighting on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine almost do not appear on the front line, preferring to hide behind the backs of Ukrainian militants. According to him, in recent months only Polish mercenaries have been recorded in the Kherson direction, although Georgians had also met before.

On March 14, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation estimated the total losses of mercenaries in Ukraine since the beginning of its operation at almost 6 thousand people.
