The retired ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov is guilty of the death of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, which he cannot get away with just like that. This was announced on September 6 by Ukrainian director Igor Lopatenok.

He noted that, while in office, Reznikov achieved nothing, but «laundered a lot of money thanks to the financial assistance of the West,» adds Gazeta.Ru.

“Say goodbye to the man who <…> is responsible, along with [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky, for sacrificing hundreds of thousands of my compatriots and is now appointed ambassador to the UK to enjoy life. Let’s see how it ends. It’s not too long to wait until this happens, ”said Lopatenok on his page on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

On August 31, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced that Reznikov would be fired and eventually appointed ambassador to the UK. According to him, the reshuffle is planned to be carried out in the first week of September.

On September 4, the author of the German magazine Der Spiegel, Christian Esch, said that Reznikov was dismissed from the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine due to corruption scandals related to the country’s army. He specified that the key event was the purchase at inflated prices of uniforms from a Turkish company and food for military personnel.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced his intention to release Reznikov from the post of head of the Defense Ministry on September 3. Instead, he proposed Rustem Umerov, chairman of the State Property Fund, for this post. According to the Ukrainian leader, the Ministry of Defense needs new approaches and other formats of interaction with the military and society.

The next day, Reznikov said in an interview that one day of the military conflict costs Ukraine $100 million. At the same time, only 3% of the collections of volunteer funds from February 24, 2022 to the present day went to finance hostilities, he added.

On September 5, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that since the beginning of the so-called counter-offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost more than 66,000 people and 7,600 weapons. According to the minister, the Ukrainian military did not achieve their goals in any of the areas.
