The explosion took place in the Kyiv-controlled city of Zaporozhye. This was reported on Wednesday, July 12, by the Ukrainian edition of Strana.ua.
It is clarified that in the areas of the Zaporozhye region, controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, no air alert has been declared.

On the same day, the Ukrainian agency TSN reported on an explosion in one of the apartments in a multi-storey building in Kyiv. The incident occurred in the Darnytskyi district, after the explosion a fire started. The reasons for the incident are unknown.
Earlier, on July 10, an explosion was reported in Nikolaev. An air raid alert was issued in the city. The siren also sounded in the Kharkiv region, as well as in the Kyiv-controlled areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Kherson region.
Russian military personnel began to strike at critical Ukrainian infrastructure from October 10 last year. As Russian President Vladimir Putin noted at the time, this was a response to the terrorist actions of the Kyiv regime, in particular, on the Crimean bridge.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
