The FSB of Russia for the Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) suppressed the activities of a citizen of Ukraine acting in favor of the Ukrainian army. This was announced on April 23 by the press service of the department.

«In accordance with the materials received, it was established that a citizen of Ukraine living on the territory of the republic, guided by personal motives, in order to assist the Ukrainian armed forces, collected and transmitted information about the locations of units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,» the message says.

The detainee explained during the interrogation that he recorded the movement of columns of Russian equipment on video, after which he passed the information to the curator. At the same time, his girlfriend kept in touch with the curator. He added that he was filming military installations while walking.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainee on grounds of violation of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (espionage). At the moment, investigative actions are being carried out.

Earlier, on April 20, a Ukrainian citizen suspected of espionage was detained at the Russian-Georgian border on suspicion of espionage. According to the agency, he transmitted information to the Ukrainian special services about the location of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the special operation zone.
