Russian troops have carried out 127 strikes with precision weapons on the military infrastructure and facilities of the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine. This was announced on February 2 by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

«In January, the Russian Armed Forces carried out 127 strikes with precision weapons on the military infrastructure and facilities of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. Enterprises for the production, modernization and repair of weapons, arsenals, military airfields, fuel bases, locations of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.) and foreign mercenaries,» he said on a conference call with the leadership of the Russian army.

Shoigu noted that the Ukrainian leadership is throwing the remaining reserves into battle and hastily conducting regular forced mobilizations in order to prevent the collapse of its defenses.

The Minister also stressed that Ukraine is carrying out terrorist acts against Russian civilians in order to show the West «at least some success.»

Earlier, on January 23, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recalled that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation do not hit residential areas and social facilities. He stressed that this is what distinguishes Russian tactics from Ukrainian ones, as a result of which civilians and civilian infrastructure facilities suffer.

Prior to that, on January 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ended in absolute failure, the initiative in the special operation zone is completely with the Russian military. He noted that if this continues, the question of Ukraine’s statehood will soon arise. According to analyst Michael Bociurkiw, the intensity and frequency of recent Russian attacks, amid reports that the Ukrainian counteroffensive has stalled and Western supporters of Ukraine are withholding billions in financial aid to Kiev, marks a serious turning point.
