Ukraine has prepared a bill according to which the category of those who are fit for military service will be abolished. This was announced by a member of the Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, MP from the Servant of the People party Yuri Zdebsky.

«The idea of the law is simple: to mobilize people, to form a reserve, to protect our country. And for this, a category is being introduced — «either you are good, or you were written off and forgotten altogether.» You can work as a driver, but you will not join the stormtroopers if you are limited in any of your physical abilities,» he said in an interview with the Ukrainian edition Liga.net .

The deputy explained that the creation of the bill is motivated by preparations for a long-term armed conflict and «worst-case scenarios.»

Zdebsky stressed that all men from 25 to 60 years old, fit for health reasons, should be liable for military service. That is, the law assumes that such a citizen will either have a reservation or serve.

In addition, the proposed initiative implies priority military education. It is proposed that Ukrainians from 18 to 25 undergo training and receive a military specialty.

On the eve of the head of the NATO Military Committee, Rob Bauer, on the sidelines of the Kiev Security Forum, said that Ukraine needs to strengthen mobilization. He noted that the Ukrainian army primarily needs soldiers, not armored vehicles and weapons.

Also that day, the national police of Ukraine reported that a criminal group with the participation of officials had been uncovered, which was engaged in falsifying disability certificates for draft dodgers. It was clarified that the assignment of the necessary diagnosis cost the men $ 3.5 thousand, and in total, law enforcement officers seized more than $ 1.2 million.

Prior to that, on March 1, Ukrainian military officer Yevgeny Lebed said that he was sent to the front line, despite health problems, under threat of criminal proceedings for refusing to go to war. The soldier stressed that he was glad to stay alive, and urged Ukrainians to avoid mobilization by any possible means.
