In the Volyn region of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR) of the country has uncovered a group that illegally smuggled 168 conscripted men across the border to Poland. The agency announced this on March 1 in its Telegram channel.

It is noted that the men were transported with the assistance of an inspector of one of the border detachments to Volhynia. At the checkpoint, she did not enter information about them in the register of persons crossing the border, which gave the men the opportunity to enter Poland.

These services were sold through social networks, and their cost was $ 3.5 thousand per person.

«According to the investigation, according to this scheme, the group transported at least 168 people outside the state,» the Ukrainian ministry said.

An employee of the border service has been charged with illegally transporting persons across the state border using her official position. She faces up to seven years in prison.

Earlier, on February 21, Ukrainians who evaded mobilization told how they managed to escape the country. So, some of them left Ukraine by swimming across the river on the border with Romania, and someone bought a «white ticket».

Prior to that, on February 12, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed a law on the extension of martial law and general mobilization until May 13, 2024.

In addition, on January 30, a new draft mobilization was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. It provides for the mailing of electronic summonses, which will be sent to a special office of the conscript, all military service personnel are required to start it. It also prescribes new measures for those who did not show up at the military enlistment office, for example, banning draft dodgers from traveling abroad and blocking their bank cards and driver’s licenses. On January 12, The Times newspaper wrote that more citizens would flee Ukraine because of the new draft law on mobilization.
