Half of the residents of Ukraine believe that mobilization is going in the wrong direction, while 48% hold Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky responsible for this, according to a survey by the Info Sapiens agency, which was commissioned by the National public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine, the results were published on April 12 on its website.

A total of 800 people were interviewed. Half of them said that the process is going in the wrong direction, 60% called the work of the territorial recruitment centers (TCCs) poor.

At the same time, 59% of respondents hold military enlistment offices responsible for the fact that mobilization is going in the wrong direction, 55% — the Verkhovna Rada, 48% — Zelensky. 25% of the respondents considered the right course of mobilization.

«60% of respondents describe the work of the shopping mall negatively, 19% positively, and 21% of respondents found it difficult to determine the answer. Only 20% of men of military age 25-59 years old, who are not yet serving, consider the opportunity to fight: to volunteer, sign a contract or mobilize. But 63% do not consider such an opportunity, and 17% have not yet decided,» the publication says.

The day before, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law tightening mobilization. 283 deputies out of 351 voted for him. The document tightens the procedure for carrying out mobilization measures, including penalties for evasion and clarifying the categories of persons subject to mobilization. At the same time, the law does not provide for provisions on demobilization.

As former MP of Ukraine, member of the international public movement «Other Ukraine» Spiridon Kilinkarov told Izvestia, the authorities have left people no choice, and the law itself is completely demotivating.

On April 2, Zelensky also signed a number of laws related to mobilization. In particular, he abolished the status of limited military service and lowered the age of mobilization from 27 to 25 years. However, at the same time, the publication Ukrainska Pravda reported that only 8% of Ukrainians are ready to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine to participate in hostilities.

Martial law in Ukraine has been in effect since February 2022. At the same time, Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its validity. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.
