The Ministry of Health of Ukraine is going to conduct repeated inspections of military medical commissions (VVC) for corruption in April this year. This was announced on April 1 by the deputy head of the country’s department, Maria Karchevich.

«We have checked all the VVS throughout Ukraine, provided recommendations for correction. Since April, we are planning repeated inspections to understand whether these recommendations have been implemented,» the We — Ukraine TV channel quotes her as saying.

As indicated, on March 4, the head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Viktor Lyashko, reported that the department had created a working group to check the work of military medical commissions in Kiev. He called shameful those cases when doctors intentionally indicate an incorrect diagnosis in a person’s medical history or demand a bribe for naming the correct one.

In November last year, a military doctor was detained in the Odessa region on suspicion of producing fictitious documents for military personnel for $ 5.5 thousand. According to investigators, for the specified amount, the doctor promised to make papers that would legalize their dismissal to the reserve.

Back in August, it was reported that the head of the military medical commission of the Zhytomyr region and his accomplices were detained for receiving bribes for assisting military personnel to travel abroad. The investigation found that the detainees demanded $2.5 thousand from those for their services.
