The Nazi regime in Kyiv cannot be seen as representing the interests of the inhabitants of Donbass. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during his speech at a meeting of the UN Security Council (SC) on effective multilateralism through the protection of the principles of the organization’s charter.

“It is obvious to any impartial observer that the Nazi Kiev regime can in no way be considered as representing the inhabitants of the territories who refused to accept the results of the bloody coup d’état in February 2014 and against whom the putschists unleashed a war for this,” the head of Russian diplomacy said.

On Monday, the Russian Foreign Minister takes part in one of the central events of the Russian presidency in the UN Security Council — an open debate on the topic «Effective multilateralism through the protection of the principles of the UN Charter.»

Lavrov will also hold talks with UN Secretary General António Guterres. They may touch on the topic of the grain deal, as well as the position of the UN regarding the conflict in Ukraine.

In October 2022, Lavrov noted that the 2014 coup d’etat in Ukraine was carried out under Nazi slogans and supported by Western countries. Thus, the West took the side of those who want to revive Nazism.
